Rockstar Mayhem Fest heats up Dallas

Excessive heat didn’t stop the hard-core metal fans from flocking to Gexa Energy Pavilion in Dallas for the annual Rockstar Mayhem Fest. And with a killer lineup on the main stage and some great bands to beat the heat with before hand it’s no wonder.

Lady Gaga, Scissor Sisters

A Monster Ball at American Airlines Center

Once again Lady Gaga packed American Airlines Center with her ‘little monsters’ filling the place to the rafters. It didn’t seem to matter that this was the same show they’d seen only last year. Even the set list was the same. The only major difference was the inclusion of Gaga’s newest single, “Born This Way”, not once, but twice. Sitting at her piano she showed that the song could have a nice, slow side and then finished off the show with an encore of the song as well.

Sister Hazel has been around for ages and, as vocalist Ken Block says, has a bazillion albums so it’s no wonder that House of Blues was packed to the rafters Friday night with fans of all ages ready to get their weekend started off with a good old fashioned rock show. And with that many songs there was plenty to play for them.

Pepsi Super Bowl Fan Jam rocks Dallas

Fans braved the weather Thursday night to head out to the Verizon Theater for the Pepsi Super Bowl Fan Jam – one of many concerts and parties going on this week for the Super Bowl. The show aired live – sort of – on VH1 and on TV the line up started out with Jason Derulo, then Duran Duran and then Kid Rock. That’s not quite how it went live and since you can see the televised part for yourself I’ll do my review on what we saw live.

The House of Blues became the House of Mars last night when 30 SECONDS TO MARS and MIDDLE CLASS RUT came in for the first of two shows here in Dallas. The place was packed to the rafters with fans of all ages who were more than ready for the antics the bands were sure to bring.

A new kind of Christmas Pageant

Christmas came early to the House of Blues Sunday night with Family Force 5’s Christmas Pageant. The tour brought togetherFamily Force 5 (FF5), two Dallas bands – Forever the Sickest Kids (FTSK) and Shorelines End – and duo Secondhand Serenade brining fans the Christmas spirit in their own special way.
