Rockstar Mayhem Fest heats up Dallas
Excessive heat didn’t stop the hard-core metal fans from flocking to Gexa Energy Pavilion in Dallas for the annual Rockstar Mayhem Fest. And with a killer lineup on the main stage and some great bands to beat the heat with before hand it’s no wonder.
Motley Crue, Poison
MÖTLEY CRÜE rock Dallas
If there was ever the perfect way to kick off the summer concert series last night’s MÖTLEY CRÜE and POISON concert was certainly it. Kicking off their summer tour honoring thirty years of rock greatness, CRÜE and company set up a truly unique show.
Lady Gaga, Scissor Sisters
A Monster Ball at American Airlines Center
Once again Lady Gaga packed American Airlines Center with her ‘little monsters’ filling the place to the rafters. It didn’t seem to matter that this was the same show they’d seen only last year. Even the set list was the same. The only major difference was the inclusion of Gaga’s newest single, “Born This Way”, not once, but twice. Sitting at her piano she showed that the song could have a nice, slow side and then finished off the show with an encore of the song as well.
Sister Hazel, Edwin McCain
A night with Sister Hazel
Sister Hazel has been around for ages and, as vocalist Ken Block says, has a bazillion albums so it’s no wonder that House of Blues was packed to the rafters Friday night with fans of all ages ready to get their weekend started off with a good old fashioned rock show. And with that many songs there was plenty to play for them.
Linkin Park
Linkin Park rock Dallas
A rescheduled show didn’t stop Linkin Park fans from coming out in force Wednesday night to American Airlines Center. Even more ready to watch their favorite band, the fans packed up close to the stage ready to mosh and crowd surf the night away.
Kid Rock, Duran Duran
Pepsi Super Bowl Fan Jam rocks Dallas
Fans braved the weather Thursday night to head out to the Verizon Theater for the Pepsi Super Bowl Fan Jam – one of many concerts and parties going on this week for the Super Bowl. The show aired live – sort of – on VH1 and on TV the line up started out with Jason Derulo, then Duran Duran and then Kid Rock. That’s not quite how it went live and since you can see the televised part for yourself I’ll do my review on what we saw live.
30 Seconds to Mars, Middle Class Rut
House of Mars
The House of Blues became the House of Mars last night when 30 SECONDS TO MARS and MIDDLE CLASS RUT came in for the first of two shows here in Dallas. The place was packed to the rafters with fans of all ages who were more than ready for the antics the bands were sure to bring.

The fantastic Sir Elton John graced Ft. Worth with his presence in an amazing concert that had the Ft. Worth Convention Center packed to the rafters. Joining him was Leon Russell. The two classic artists have recently released an album together, “The Union”.
