A new kind of Christmas Pageant
Christmas came early to the House of Blues Sunday night with Family Force 5’s Christmas Pageant. The tour brought togetherFamily Force 5 (FF5), two Dallas bands – Forever the Sickest Kids (FTSK) and Shorelines End – and duo Secondhand Serenade brining fans the Christmas spirit in their own special way.

Local boys Shorelines End got the crowd warmed up and rocking and – with this being the final show of the tour – took the end of tour pranks of FTSK and FF5 in stride as the guys ran out on stage with comforters and through them over the Shorelines End boys. John Vesely of Secondhand Serenade got the prank treatment as well when FF5 came out with towels and did their own interpretive dance, fed him a bit of a massive cupcake, and then flicked him with towels.
Though Family Force 5 was the scheduled headliner the band switched places with local heroes Forever the Sickest Kids and came on in the third slot. With a great mix of regular music and their Christmas CD, Family Force 5 had the crowd bouncing and singing along – the base thumping hard enough to mess with the big screens up on the walls. Candy canes and even wrapped presents were thrown out into the crowd and as things came to an end the stage was filled with fans/friends in costume and dancing to “Love Addict”. The crowd demanded an encore and they got it with “Kountry Gentleman”.

Though some of the crowd thinned out after FF5’s set, the remaining crowd certainly didn’t show a drop in energy when Forever the Sickest Kids hit the stage. It was clear the boys were glad to be home and really gave it their all for the final show of the tour and introduced us to a brand new song called “Life of the Party” which they said will be on their new full length CD to be released on March 1, 2011.
